Larry G. Schedler, CCIM

Larry G. Schedler has been exclusively representing buyers and sellers of apartment communities for 30+ years, and has successfully handled the sale of more than 50,000 multi-family units, with a market capitalization in excess of $3,000,000,000 in value.  Mr. Schedler began his career as an acquisition representative for a private, regional investment firm that specialized in multi-family assets and then as a multi-family broker.  Larry formed Larry G. Schedler & Associates, Inc. to specifically advise and represent buyers and sellers of multi-family properties throughout the Gulf South.

He has consistently been recognized by various professional organizations as the top multi-family broker in the State of Louisiana and the Gulf South and has been involved in the majority of multi-family conveyances for over two (2) decades.

Larry has successfully represented conventional market-rate buyers and sellers, as well as non-profit housing organizations, institutional investors, insurance companies, and financial institutions.  He has experience in working with not only all cash and conventionally financed transactions, but also on tax-exempt and taxable bond transactions, Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Historic Tax Credits and with the various HUD/FHA financing programs.

He is a graduate of Loyola University of the South and holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation (CCIM).  Larry is a licensed real estate broker in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

Larry is a frequent guest speaker as a representative of the local and regional apartment market for The University of New Orleans, as well as numerous professional organizations, such as the Urban Land Institute, CREW, Multi-Housing World, etc.  He has been a guest on local radio broadcasts and was asked by the National Multi-family Council to testify at a Congressional Hearing of the state of the Gulf South Apartment Market in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

A member of the Board of Directors of Providence Community Housing and a board member emeritus of Christopher Homes, Inc. of which he previously served as Chair of the board.  He also served as a board member to numerous Volunteer of America (VOA) Affordable Housing Corporations, and the Apartment Association of Greater New Orleans.

Larry is a co-publisher of the Greater New Orleans Multi-Family Report, which is a bi-annual publication on the local multi-family market which provides an overview of rental rates, occupancy and sales and construction activity.


Cheryl M. Short has been in the multi-family industry for over 30 years.  During this period she has been actively involved in every facet of the industry from on-site management, regional management, asset management, financial underwriting and multi-family sales.  Prior to her partnering with Larry G. Schedler & Associates, Inc, she served as the senior vice president of a regional apartment management company.  In partnership with Mr. Schedler, Mrs. Short has successfully sold over 50,000/units with a market value in excess of $3,000,000,000.

Mrs. Short brings a unique and valuable perspective to her brokerage practice based on her background and understanding of the operational side of the business.

Her experience includes management on behalf of individual investors and institutions, the largest being the Jacques-Miller Company of Nashville, Tennessee, where she was directly responsible for a portfolio of garden apartment communities located in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri.

Cheryl also served as Senior Vice President of a Louisiana based fee management firm with a portfolio of multi-family assets throughout the State of Louisiana.

A majority of Cheryl’s portfolio consisted of Financial Institution and Insurance Company assets in which Mrs. Short was directly responsible for rehabilitating the assets and repositioning them for an orderly disposition.  It was in this capacity that Mrs. Short and Mr. Schedler “teamed” to dispose of these assets once they were stabilized.

In addition to her brokerage/management activities, Cheryl has done extensive management consultation work regarding operations and disposition alternatives.  She is involved in all aspects of the disposition process including servicing, underwriting and negotiating.

Cheryl is a licensed real estate broker in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi and has earned the CAM, CAPS, and COS designations.

Christian J. Schedler is directly involved in the sourcing and marketing of multi-family properties.  He is responsible for the financial underwriting and market analysis of the various markets we serve.  Christian was previously an associate of HRI Properties, a development firm that specializes in the adaptive reuse of historic buildings to multi-family, hotel and office/retail. He holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation (CCIM) and is a member of the CCIM Institute.

Chistian is a graduate of the  University of Mississippi with a B.B.A. in Real Estate and Finance.  He is a licensed real estate agent in Louisiana and Mississippi.
